On Saturday, October 1 Accommodations Coordinator Michelle Wiley and 44 students from Three Hills School and Prairie Christian Academy, as well as a few Canadian student representatives from both schools, went on a journey to discover Banff National Park.
Banff is approximately 150 kilometers west of Calgary and is Canada's first national park. There are over three million visitors a year to undertake a variety of activities including hiking, biking, skiing, and camping. It hosts some of the world's most breathtaking mountain scenery as it in the heart of the magnificent Canadian Rocky Mountains.
A highlight of the trip was the journey to the top of the Banff Gondola to see a whole new side of Sulpher Mountain and the Canadian Rockies. At the top is a wonderful mountaintop experience from new restaurants and interactive exhibits to a multisensory theatre and 360-degree rooftop observation deck!
After that exhilarating experience, everybody headed back down the mountain to Banff town center where students split up into small groups to find their own places for lunch and explore and shop around Banff. At the end of the journey, they met up at Cows for some famous and delicious ice cream before heading back home.
