International Student Program

Drumheller Valley Secondary School has much to offer international students. Four levels of ESL classes are provided and used to determine appropriate program choices for international students.  Subject teachers provide tutorials and other qualified tutors are available outside of school for an additional fee. The counselling department assists students with timetabling concerns as well as post-secondary choices and applications. Personal counselling is also available for the students.

Integration of international students with Canadian students is supported through the Ambassador program. International Education Week, Passport to Adventure, and Asian/Chinese New Year are a few examples of the cultural events which take place throughout the school year to recognize and learn about our international students. During International Education Week in November, local and international students work together to present displays of international food, videos, calligraphy, and offer various cultural demonstrations.

Students at Drumheller Valley Secondary School are recognized with academic awards, Student of the Month awards, a Celebrating What’s Right weekly draw, as well as Graduation awards and scholarships.
