Our second annual winter retreat was an incredible opportunity for students who did not return home for Christmas break to have a once-in-a-lifetime winter experience in the Canadian Rockies. It snowed quite heavily from the time of our arrival to the time of our departure, so it was quite the winter wonderland! The retreat took place from January 2nd through January 4th in the world-renowned tourist destination of Banff. 29 students from Strathmore, Drumheller and Three Hills participated in the retreat. The students were kept busy with a trip to the hot springs on the first evening, and skiing/snowboarding/tubing at Lake Louise Ski Resort the next day, followed by an afternoon sleigh ride around Lake Louise and then a night of bowling and pizza at High Rollers in Banff. On our final morning, the students had a few hours of free time to explore, shop and eat lunch in Banff. We all met for ice cream at Cows before heading back home.
It was fun and fantastic!
