International Education Week takes place every year during the third week of November and is celebrated by more than 100 countries. The week highlights programs and activities that give students and educators the opportunity to see the world through an international lens.
This year Three Hills School started each day throughout the week by playing a different national anthem on the intercom each morning to recognize and celebrate the various countries their international students call home. Students gave presentations about their country to some of the elementary school classes, and it was a lot of fun to see the students learning about these new cultures. They asked a lot of questions which showed just how much their curiosity was piqued!
There was also an international food fair. Students went into groups of their countries and each group made, displayed and sold a food item that represented their culture and cuisine to other students and visitors to the school. It was a trip around the world in one room!
Three Hills School is proud of its international students and appreciates everything that they contribute to educating all students and staff about themselves and their countries.
